When you think of a cozy Minnesota log cabin, our Bass Cabin is exactly what you'll envision. It’s perfect for small families, couples, and those exploring the Great North Woods on their own. Our multi-cabin resort with central lodge (Aurora Room) is in a secluded bay on 16 acres so there are lots of open spaces. Lots of open water from the dock too: 65 miles of uninhabited, wilderness waterways on the Minnesota, Ontario border.
What brings you to Kabetogama Lake? Fishing? Catch Walleye, Northern Pike, Smallmouth Bass, jumbo Perch and Crappies - there is enough fish for everyone. Guides tip: September and October offer breath-taking fall color and giant slab Crappies school up. Cabin time here means enjoying a shorelunch - savor the fresh taste of fish cooked on a campfire. We are certified fish packers too, so let us clean your fish! We can help you plan a successful wedding too - our wedding planner will customize an event that will make everyone very happy.
Sleeping arrangement: Bedroom with a queen bed. Living room with futon sleeper sofa. Bass Cabin comes with a charcoal grill.
Open dining area and living room. Your feet will appreciate the carpet throughout the cabin and your eyes will appreciate the rustic, heavily wooded and distant lake view from the cabin. You won’t believe what’s waiting for you down on the lake: A beautiful private beach and the largest floating water park in Northern Minnesota. All ages spend hours on the beach playing volleyball and in the water playing on the aqua tower and trampoline, slide and 20’ launch, aqua log & trapeze, and rope swing.
Your vacation budget will appreciate the free starter bundle of firewood & first bag of ice; free video library; free WIFI throughout resort; free ping pong and lawn games; even the full service sheltered harbor is free.
Before each days adventure begins, stop in at the resort's main lodge Aurora Room: Find snacks, pop, frozen pizza (& pizza oven) etc. Gas, oil, bait, tackle, clothing, gifts are at the Lodge Trading Post. Now you’re set for a day on or off the water.
A day trip to Voyageur's National Park must be on your bucket list. Hike trails that are only accessible by boat on the Kabetogama Peninsula. Explorers tip: Bring a pole to catch your shore lunch on one of the inner lakes. Take a guided canoe trip, kettle falls boat trip, paddle a 26 foot voyageur's canoe. For a different kind of lush green experience head to International Falls Country Club for some golfing.
If your cabin time includes dining out, you can go by car or boat to several restaurants. If you are bringing a boat, we have a free boat ramp located on-site and you get a free boat slip with cabin rental.
