Welcome to exceptional and spacious! Our new 3 story hand scribed cedar log lodge is great for larger groups who want to experience life on the lake and State Park trails. Bring your own boat or rent one from nearby marinas and boat Eagles Nest #3’s 1000 acres of water. The lake is 50 feet deep with no motor restrictions. There’s a boat launch available within the Bear Head State Park located on the NW end of the lake (fee). Our lodge is adjacent to the Bear Head State Park Lands. That means ready-access to outdoor recreation in the Boundary Waters region!
Take in the lake views from the large windows facing the lake, or step outside and relax on the walk out deck with patio furniture, and gas grill (propane provided). Keeping the “grill-master" company is easy because the deck is large and the elevated lake view is amazing.
Sleeping arrangement: Master bedroom with king bed (plus lakeside walk-out balcony); second bedroom with 2 twin beds; third bedroom with queen size bed; fourth bedroom on lower level (combined with entertainment room) features 2 sets of twin bunk beds plus futon for additional guests. 3.5 bathrooms.
We have some unique extras in the lodge: Blue Ray DVD player on main level, additional TV with Blue Ray DVD on lower level, large great room features comfortable furniture. The group cook will appreciate the stocked kitchen! Cookware & dinnerware, all new stainless steel appliances including stove/oven, dishwasher, refrigerator/freezer; dishwashing soap, garbage bags, kitchen towels & pot holders provided.
Because we are just 16 miles from Ely, MN (between Tower and Ely), planning area things to do during your vacation is a must. Did you know there are over 500 lakes within 20 miles of Ely? Ely, MN is a premier vacation destination for the outdoor water enthusiast. Find Walleye, Northern Pike, Smallmouth Bass, Largemouth Bass, Crappies, Bluegills, Trout and more. The shore-lunch might be the most memorable part of the trip. Day trips to BCCAW are popular too: Find extreme solitude in 1.5 million acres of thick forests intersected by 1500 miles of canoe routes.
There is plenty of room and things to do right here at the lodge: Enjoy the sights, sounds and smells of the great outdoors while taking a stroll on the level yard to the picturesque shoreline. Stand at the end of your private dock while the kids jump in, climb up the swim ladder and do it all over again. The end of the day is the best time to gather around the lakeside fire ring for laughter and star gazing.
