******* FALL 2019 RESERVATIONS- JUST 3-NIGHT MINIMUM, DATES COULD BE WEEKEND OR WEEKDAYS*******
Many gorgeous, crisp September dates still available! Beautiful maple, red oak, white pine area, so fall color is amazing! Evenings are already cooling now in August- in the 50s and 60s at night. Fishing and golfing have been fantastic, biking and hiking, bonfires and brewery visits and more coming this fall!
PLAN AHEAD! If you like what you see, but your dates aren’t available? Well, half of July 2020 and part of August 2020 is already booked... and I get so many calls from people saying “ Your place is so cute, we want to stay there....” Here’s some tips:
— Not sure you want to commit for a full week? Rent in September! Just a 3-day minimum stay, and try the place! And early September is warmer than most of June; water temperature is much higher! There’s much more swimming from 9/1 to 9/15 than from 6/1 to 6/15. Plus biking, hiking, golf, Duluth day trip, etc. You’ll be busy!
—Autumn dates don’t work for you? In 2020 the full week rentals begin 6/19th. If you are renting between 6/19 and 9/4 you must rent a full week, from Friday to Friday — from Friday, 6/19 to beginning of Labor Day weekend, Friday, 9/4. So, rent earlier in May/June for a short stay! 3-day stays are available until 6/19. Weekday nights are cheaper than weekends.
Welcome to the Northland! Located 110 miles north of either downtown Mpls or St Paul, the cottage is nestled under the tall white pines of northern Minnesota. Awaken to the call of loons, and end your day gazing at the Northern Lights above the rooftop deck on your boathouse. In the hours between you might fish, swim, boat, golf, bike, hike. Sand Lake is a full-recreation lake and a perfect place to get away.
Why do people want to stay at Sand Lake Cottage? Well, the photos sell the place. And it is even more charming in person!! Designed by an architect, built by an excellent builder, decorated and outfitted with your “dream relaxed vacay” in mind, the place is perfect! And Sand Lake is a fun lake- swim, fish, boat, golf, bike, walk, grill, eat, drink, bonfire, star-gaze. Repeat.
Stocked kitchen with brand new stainless appliances installed in 2017. Coffee Maker, Dishes & Utensils, Dishwasher, Microwave, Pantry Items, Refrigerator, Stove, Toaster - a complete set of dishes. Sleeping arrangement: 2 bedrooms (1 double and 1 queen), plus a bunkhouse with two twin beds. One full bath in the cottage.
Lake-time here includes two different access points to the lake: your own private boathouse deck where the views from the rooftop spam the entire bay and into the next bay. This just might be the best place in the world for cocktail hour— fruit, cheese and crackers, with a glass of something cold, mesmerized by the lake. A second access to the lake from the lakeside deck of the cottage leads you down to a lakeside deck, a 32’ L-shaped dock with bumpers for your boat, a beautiful sandy bottom swimming area.
Our location is unique: 45 miles south of Duluth and 110 miles north of the Twin Cities. A quick drive from the Cities, but it looks and feels like the North Shore! Hot summer swimmin’ days and cool nights, bonfires, and Northern Lights!
Start your day the right way with morning coffee curled up on the screened porch, or take your mug and meander down to the boathouse deck. You’re closer to the loons, the morning fog... Get ready for a great day on Sand Lake, located near Moose Lake, MN. With a great population of larger-then-average crappies, tons of sunnies, bass, northern, the occasional walleye, and rarer muskie, you're in for a tasty fish fry in the cottage or lakeside over the fire pit.
There’s plenty to do right here: Swimming, boating and sun-bathing on the dock. Catch lots of fish. Boat/kayak/SUP rentals are available on the lake or in town. Golf at the nearby golf course on the lake - boat, drive, walk or bike to the course!
Moose Lake, MN offers lots of adventure. Hike at many beautiful state parks; Moose Lake State Park or drive to Jay Cooke State Park. Enjoy the local flavors at the brewery and antique shops. Did you know, Moose Lake is the "Agate Capital of the World" and is home to the world's largest agate?- 108 pounds. Events like the Car Show, Art in the Park, BrewFest and Agate Days are just fun. Duluth and the North Shore are a 45-minute drive- those are some day trips you'll love!

Beautiful Cottage! Easiest vacation ever! So comfortable, nice inside fireplace, tastefully decorated, couldn’t ask for more! Love the grounds and privacy! The porch is nice too! Great fishing off the dock! Definitely will return to this gem:) Ann M, Cottage Grove, MN
Incredible week. Everything about this rental cottage is outstanding. If you are thinking of renting a cabin, Sand Lake Cottage should be your first choice. On a scale of 1-10 this was definitely a 10. Anonymous
Our family of 4 spent a wonderful week at this cabin. With everything tastefully decorated in nautical lake cabin style with an antique flair, we felt very much at home. The cabin is impeccably clean and seemed larger than pictures portrayed on the website. Darwin E, Rogers, MN
Brought me back to my summer camp days in Northern Minnesota! Ben, San Diego, CA
This was one of the most beautiful places we have visited across the United States. Brent, Valdosta, GA
Exactly what we were looking for!! You couldn’t ask for a better host. AFJ, Minneapolis, MN
What a cozy cottage! We loved our stay here! We enjoyed beautiful views of the lake from the deck and great fishing from the dock during the day. The rooms in the cottage (and the nifty bunk house) were very comfortable, impeccably cleaned, and spacious. Perfect house for our getaway. We hope to return again soon! Nick H.
