Cabin Rental Inn the Woods is a traditional-style log-sided cabin. Recently constructed in Stillwater, MN, this three-bedroom home is spacious and comfortable at 1,300 square feet, and can accommodate up to eight guests.
This Stillwater vacation cabin is set on a large, private lot with a level, grassy expanse and a smattering of tall trees. The area is quiet and inviting for some small wildlife -- you might even see turkeys exploring the backyard!
Our guests love the covered porch at the front of our home, furnished with padded benches and a small outdoor table and chairs. Inside, we have a fully furnished kitchen with a breakfast bar and four stools, as well as a dining area with seating for four.
Our living area is connected, with its cozy electric fireplace, flat-screen TV and plush sofas and armchairs. We also have a game room with a second TV, arcade games, shuffleboard and foosball, and a laundry room with a deep sink and folding counter.
Sleeping arrangements: There are three private bedrooms and two full baths at Cabin Rental Inn the Woods. The bedrooms are furnished with two queen-sized beds and two twins. There is also a twin-size foldaway bed in the master bedroom, and room for one on the living room couch.
This eight-person cabin rental also has an outdoor play area for eight, with plenty of room to run, play and explore. The back of the house opens to a sun porch with a grill and outdoor dining set. We have several bird feeders that bring our feathered friends into viewing range, as well as a stone fire pit and a second picnic table down on the lawn. Our guests with children will love the custom-built sandbox and sturdy swing set by the tree line.
Cabin Inn the Woods is located just eight miles outside of Stillwater, Minnesota. It’s a popular location for golfing getaways, with four scenic courses within 10 miles of the front door. There are also great options for biking and walking day trips near our cabin - the entrance to the Gateway Trail is less than a mile away, which offers a paved surface that runs along an old railroad track. There is also an unpaved path for horses. The trail goes east into Stillwater and west all the way to St. Paul.
Our favorite place to get a burger and a beer is just a mile north of the cabin, at Sal’s Bar and Grill. We also recommend the Gasthaus Bavarian Hunter Restaurant for traditional german food about a mile to the south. Stay “home” and cook out around the fire, or head into the cities for a day of shopping and sight-seeing. This vacation rental is located about a half hour from the Twin Cities by car, and 40 minutes from the Mall of America.

The first thing my husband said when we checked in is give him a five-star rating after he found the Icy beer mugs in the freezer! Overall my entire family was pleasantly surprised by all the little extras. The toys for the kids were perfect! The yard, fire wood, grill and front porch were perfect for us to hang out and enjoy time together! Fully stocked kitchen, linens provided and paper items. We would definitely book again! -- Mike D., Aug. 2019
The whole family enjoyed the Wedding weekend in St Paul and staying at The Cabin In The Woods! -- Greg D., July 2019
What a perfect spot for our little getaway! Dave & his wife thought of everything. The fire pit was even ready for us to start the fire up out in the back. We enjoyed time visiting and reading on the expansive front porch, enjoyed hours on the back deck watching beautiful birds, deer & even heard the neighboring horses whinnying at night. Next time we will bring our bikes so we can take advantage of the nearby bike trail. -- Ann M., July 2019
We really enjoyed our stay here. Peace and tranquility for we grandparents. Our children live in Lake Elmo and visited us for a few meals and the grandsons loved the game room. We would definitely return. -- Karen D., July 201
Great property: Charming, clean. Everything you need. -- Jeanne K., July 2019
We came to this cabin for a girl’s weekend and were amazed at how wonderful everything was. There was everything that we could possibly need and it was IMMACULATE! The fire pit in the backyard was great as was the game room in the basement! It was nice getting up to deer eating in the backyard and signing birds. The owner’s were very helpful and friendly! We will definitely be going back again! I would recommend this cabin for anyone who is looking for a peaceful retreat!! -- Kim
I grew up in Stillwater and graduated 1976. I purchased the property in 2005 and now live close by the cabin. If you see a red pickup with a black lab sticking out the window, that's me! When cutting grass or doing maintenance on the cabin when there are no guests, I will always take a break on the front porch and watch the birds, turkey, deer, and - of course - the squirrels. In the winter it is like a wonderland after a snowfall. All the trees are covered with snow and there is just a silence in the air.
