Welcome to the Shing Wako Resort, an 18 cabin resort on 11 park-like acres in the Brainerd lakes area. Enjoy 200 feet of sandy beach frontage on Lake Edward. This Brainerd Resort offers plenty of fun filled adventures on and off the lake. Perfect for families or a group of friends looking for a relaxing vacation. Cabin 1 includes a fully equipped kitchen, bed linens, wi-fi, cabin TV, screen porch, private fire ring, 4 stack chairs, and a picnic table.
Between mid-June and mid August, you can book a “week,” checking in after 9 am on Saturday and checking out the following Friday before 10 am. You can also book a less than week stay; Friday – Monday for 3 nights or Monday – Friday for 4 nights. Either one is the same rate for the same size cabin. From May 1 to mid-June and mid-August to September 30 we have a minimum 2 night stay.
Sleeping arrangements: 2 double beds (one is on the screen porch) and a sofa sleeper.
Our guests love spending time on Lake Edward so we include paddleboats, kayaks, paddleboards, canoe, and life jackets with each rental. Looking for more lake fun? Rent a boat or pontoon right at the resort. Soak up the sun on the loungers along the beach.
Lake Edward is home to walleye, northern pike, large & small mouth bass, sunfish, and others. Brainerd is known as a premier fishing destination.
All of our cabins offer stunning views of the lake and sunsets. Tons of green space for yard games. Spend time around the your own private campfire, roast marshmallows, and share campfire stories. We sell firewood and deliver it right to your fire pit. There’s room to park two vehicles next to the cabin. We also offer additional parking at the resort for extra cars, boats, and trailers.
Swim or wade in the crystal clear water of Lake Edward. Kids love to build sandcastles on our large beach area. Ask us about our walking map. 3-4 miles of walking trails right from the resort. Also enjoy access to two playgrounds, carpetball, hook and ring, horseshoe pit, tetherball, basketball, and volleyball. Massages are also available upon request at or near the resort.

Staying in the winter? Brainerd offers downhill skiing, tubing in Breezy Point, and cross-country skiing at the Northland Arboretum. More than 1,200 miles of well-groomed snowmobile trails run through the Brainerd area. No matter the season, Brainerd has endless amounts of opportunity.

Marty and Sue, Thanks again for the wonderful family vacation you provided for us. The cabin with awesome kitchen, bathrooms & beds, the grounds, beach, pontoon, and all the fun things to do and still have enough space to feel private are AMAZING, the fact that you keep up with it all is equally amazing. The whole place is kept so clean and maintained right down to the wonderful firewood you brought to us nightly. Not many, if any resorts are keeping up to these standards anymore.
