At home in the woods! How about renting a remote cabin surrounded by trees that still offers on-water resort amenities? Cabin 9 is a few steps away from the resort center in the old campground area - total privacy! Watch wildlife or catch Walleye from sunup to sundown. Walleye are abundant in Big Boy Lake with the average length at 15 inches!
Maple Trails Resort amenities: Bike trail, canoes/kayaks, dock space, mooring buoys, paddleboat, motors available, fishing boats available, hiking trail, boat ramp, playground, pontoon boat(s) available.
Sleeping arrangement: One of the bedrooms has a double bed. The second bedroom has a bunk bed - double on the bottom and twin on top.
Recently remodeled to include a new kitchen, fireplace, and wood floors. All 8 of our Minnesota resort cabins offer something unique: Woods, water, decks that overlook the cove.
Longville’s most unique event is the Longville Turtle Races, making it the Turtle Racing Capitol of the World :)
With the Chippewa National Forest out one door and 3,452-acre Boy Lake out the other door, you might be torn on which one to enjoy! Fishing on Big Boy Lake is fantastic, but the Paul Bunyan, Chippewa, and Woodtick multi-use trails are so unique for hiking, biking, and atving. We have pontoons for rent so you can spend the day cruising 26.2 miles of shallow bays, large points, and shoreline. But a fall road trip with family though the blue and gold tapestry of other lakes and forests would be fun too. You have some thinking to do:)
Plan on a fish fry or two because Boy Lake is teeming with Bass, Northern, Crappie, Bluegill, and even the elusive Musky. Catch a limit or something big and get your picture on our ‘Braggin’ web page. In 2013 a 51” Muskellunge was sampled in Big Boy Lake.
If you want to change things up. Shift from water & woods to the links: Ridgewood Golf Course and Country Club, Long Bow Golf Course are 2 popular 18-hole courses. And the Judy Garland Birthplace & Museum is worth a visit for all you Wizard of Oz movie fans. Since you book directly with us here at Maple Trails Resort, you tap into our local knowledge - live festivals? There are plenty, but one of our favorites is the Annual Harvest Moon Festival in Walker, MN - A unique beer and wine tasting festival with live entertainment.
