Lodge 19 is on half of the lakeview lodge with a connecting door in the kitchen to the other half. This lodge is perfect for large families, corporate retreats and other group events. One side of the lodge (four bedrooms) can host up to 14 people and if you rent the other half, your group can be as large as 28! The two story lodge creates plenty of space for everyone with a roomy 2008 square feet in each unit.
Shing Wako Resort consists of 12 cabins and 6 reunion lodges. All of our comfortable cabins invite you with a lake view and include a private deck and fire pit. The lodges have their own free washer and dryer!
Between mid-June and mid-August, you can book a “week,” checking in after 9 am on Saturday and checking out the following Friday before 10 am. You can also book a less than week stay; Friday – Monday for 3 nights or Monday – Friday for 4 nights. Either one is the same rate for the same size cabin. From May 1 to mid-June and mid-August to September 30 we have a minimum 2 night stay.
Sleeping Arrangement: The lower level bedrooms have Select Comfort™, Sleep Number® beds; one king and on queen. The upper level consists of two bedrooms, one with a Select Comfort™ queen.
This is a very roomy vacation reunion cabin, 2008 square feet. This adjoining lodge can be rented together (both Cabin 19 and 20) for larger groups. Or you can just rent one side. Also on the inside you will be surrounded by knotty pine interior and a gas fireplace. Here, you will experience a true cabin vacation.
Paddleboat, kayaks, canoe, and life jackets are included with the cabin rental. For those who want a motor boat or pontoon, they are available for rent. We recommend exploring the lake and fishing. Lake Edward is home to sunfish, perch, northern pike, small & large mouth bass, and others. We personally practice catch and release techniques and encourage our guests to do the same. But for those who are fishing for their meal, we have a fish cleaning house for your convenience.
Fishing doesn't stop when the lake freezes either; the ice fishing on Lake Edward is fabulous. If you plan to come during the winter, the Brainerd area has over 1000 miles of snowmobile trails too. Also go downhill skiing, tubing, and cross country skiing. Pay attention to the birds in the area. Many Shing Wako Resort guests capture pictures of rare birds they see. Osprey, Barn Swallow, Wood Duck, Blue-winged Teal, Red-tailed hawk, Green Heron, etc. In other words, bring your camera for fish and bird pictures!
Our multi cabin resort offers plenty of on-site activities for all ages, but day trips in the area might include horseback riding, tennis courts, mini golfing, exploring local markets, waterparks, casinos, witnessing turtle races, Pine Grove Zoo, and many skateparks.
