There are plenty of land and water things to do at Black Bay Camp. Explore our 85 acres and 3,000 feet of shoreline; Hang out at the Gazebo and deck (80 feet above the water - great view); hike the well-maintained walking trails or our 2 mile long driveway -both great for birding- look for a path along the lakeshore leading to a pretty campsite.
Heat things up in our wood-fired lakeside sauna then jump in the cool lake. After the sun sets the heat is still on at the central fire pit - make some camp friends and toast to another great day on the lake!
Take to the lake! Our cabins include the use of 1 fishing boat with oars, 2-person canoe, kayaks (3 available) and a peddle boat (all first come, first served). Nearby creeks are great for kayak exploring. Lake Vermilion is an absolute joy to boat and fish. Its bays and islands offers limitless fishing options even when the wind is blowing. Inquire about available rentals for fishing boat with motor and pontoon boat. Don't forget the net! There are reefs, sunken islands, drop-offs and plenty of shoreline for fishing: Walleye, Bass, Muskie, Northern, Perch, and Panfish all make for a great fish fry. Better yet, bring your own boat - the boat launch is to the west of the Main Lodge.
