Cabin 17 is a two-bedroom, lakefront vacation home located within 10 feet of the shoreline. This six-person log cabin is elevated above the water on stilts, raising the picture windows to offer a clear panoramic view of the natural scenery at the level of the property’s mature trees.
Cabin 17 was newly renovated in 2012 and features a modern kitchen, fully equipped with appliances, cooking utensils, dinnerware and crockery. The attached dining area has seating for six, while the open sitting room is airy and filled with natural light from the large windows.
Cabin 17 is pet-friendly and smoke-free, located within a short walking distance to other resort cabins and shared amenities — including the sandy beach area, the outdoor fire pits and plenty of picnic tables. The homes sits on a private, terraced lawn with room for off-street parking.
Sleeping arrangements: This cabin home can accommodate six overnight guests with two private bedrooms. The first bedroom is furnished with a queen-sized bed, and the second has a bunk bed with a twin-sized mattress lofted over a full. There is also a futon in the living area.
Reminder: guests will need to bring their own bath and dish towels.
Cabin 17 shares a prime waterfront location on White Iron Lake with 25 other unique cabin rentals ranging from two-person hideaways to 12-person lodges. These cabin enjoy a bevy of luxury resort amenities such as outdoor volleyball and basketball courts, a game room, a sauna, complimentary kayaks and canoes, onsite motor boat and pontoon rentals, and shared docks. The nearest town to White Iron Beach Resort — the popular northern destination of Ely, MN — is a great place to explore during your stay. Check out the downtown area for local shopping, dining and entertainment options, or pick up a pamphlet about regional attractions such as the International Wolf Center or the Tower-Soudan Underground Mine. The town — and the resort — are surrounded by the natural beauty of the Superior National Forest.
Ely also happens to be one of the few access points to the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness nature reserve, one of the last untouched wilderness preserves in North America. Contact us for info about permits from the USDA Forest Service. From the resort, it’s not hard to find any number of great places to hike, bike or canoe along cleared paths and waterways. The fishing is also known to be fruitful, with a large native population of crappie, bass, walleye and northern pike.

Peak season at White Iron Beach runs from mid-June to mid-August, with weekly rates of $1,658.00.
During the off-season, weekly rentals are available at a rate of $1,326.00.
Weekly rentals run from Saturday to Saturday.
Check-in is available starting at 3:00 pm with check-out scheduled for 9:00 am.
A deposit of 30 percent of the rental fee or $300.00 (whichever is greater) is required to reserve the cabin.

The pontoon boat rental was reasonably priced and we were able to catch some nice fish from it. The owners were available throughout our stay and were more than accommodating. I didn't walk the grounds much, but it seemed that most(if not all) the cabins were within 75 yards of the water. We had the BEST time. First visit to northern Minnesota for my grandkids and son in law, they loved it all. The last night of our visit we went to the beach and looked a sky full of stars. White Iron Beach Resort in northern Minnesota is entering its 102nd year of outstanding personal service. As Ely, MN’s oldest wilderness resort (the original camp was founded in 1917), White Iron Beach Resort is a historic tourist destination with unique access to the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness and a storied past that includes fur trading, mining for iron ore and the native Ojibwe culture.
