Accessible Cabin! Cabin 8 at Shing Wako Resort is a 3 bedroom/2 bath accessible with a roll-in shower. This cabin is at lake level and provides a beautiful view of Lake Edward as well as easy access to the water. Cabin 8 also has it’s own private patio with picnic table, 6 stack chairs, charcoal grill and private fire pit. Wood is available for purchase and we deliver directly to your cabin!
Shing Wako Resort is made up of 12 cabins and 6 large reunion lodges. All of our comfortable cabins are on Lake Edward, making it a great summer vacation spot filled with water activities. The resort also includes coin operated laundry machines and free Internet near your cabin.
Between mid-June and mid-August, you can book a “week,” checking in after 9 am on Saturday and checking out the following Friday before 10 am. You can also book a less than week stay; Friday – Monday for 3 nights or Monday – Friday for 4 nights. Either one is the same rate for the same size cabin. From May 1 to mid-June and mid-August to September 30 we have a minimum 2 night stay.
Sleeping Arrangement: There are 2 queen beds and one full bed; with linens included. With a sofa sleeper in the living room.
Cabin 8 is on Lake Edward, making your vacation here full of opportunities for water activities. Being so close to the lake offers a beautiful view and the calming sound of waves on the beach. The water of Lake Edward is very clear and we work hard to maintain a healthy ecosystem within the lake. Our paddle boards, kayaks, canoes and life jackets are free to use with rental of a cabin at the resort. There is plenty of room on the water for boating, jet skis, water skiing and more!
The Shing Wako Resort also attracts a wide variety of birds, perfect for bird watching at any time. Our Pine Trees make the perfect habitat for many of these species. Birds such as the Bald Eagle, White Pelican, Pileated Woodpecker, Yellow-Bellied Sapsucker and much more have been sighted.
There are several state parks that surround the Shing Wako Resort, making for great day trips during your stay. Cuyuna Country State Recreation Area, located near Crosby, MN, is an incredible spot for fishing, kayaking and scuba diving. The Crow Wing State Park is perfect for nature lovers with prairie, pine and hardwood forests. The Crow Wing and Mississippi Rivers also make for great canoeing opportunities.
At the resort, there is much to do in the water and on land. Lake Edward is great for fishing and is stocked with walleye, northern pike, bass and more. The sandy beach is perfect for relaxing in the shallows and enjoying the sun. There are also two playgrounds, volleyball, basketball, tetherball courts and a horseshoe pit. Well-maintained paved drives throughout the resort make for great biking, skating or scooting as well.

Many thanks for the very relaxing and memorable stay at Shing Wako.
