Lodge 18 is on half of the lakefront lodge with a connecting door in the kitchen to the other half. This lodge is perfect for large families, corporate retreats and other group events. One side of the lodge (three bedrooms) can host up to 12 people and if you rent the other half, your group can be as large as 24! The two-story lodge creates plenty of space for everyone with a roomy 1680 square feet in each unit.
Shing Wako Resort consists of 12 cabins and 6 reunion lodges. All of our comfortable cabins have a lake view and include a private deck and fire pit. The lodges have their own free washer and dryer!
Between mid-June and mid-August, you can book a “week,” checking in after 9 am on Saturday and checking out the following Friday before 10 am. You can also book a less than week stay; Friday – Monday for 3 nights or Monday – Friday for 4 nights. Either one is the same rate for the same size cabin. From May 1 to mid-June and mid-August to September 30 we have a minimum 2 night stay.
Sleeping Arrangement: The first floor has one bedroom with a Select Comfort™, Sleep Number® king size bed. The 2nd floor has two bedrooms, one with a queen Select Comfort™, the 2nd has 4 XL twins
The Reunion Lodges are a very unique aspect of the Shing Wako Resort. These large cabins allow for big groups to stay together under one roof. The spacious units are 1,680 square feet, allowing plenty of room for everyone. Both units in the lodge include two decks, picnic tables, chairs and a large gas grill. Imagine barbequing with the whole family on a warm summer night! The reunion lodges continue to bring people together to have fun in northern Minnesota at any time of year.
Lake Edward is also a very special part of the Shing Wako Resort. The lake is 100-150 yards from all of the cabins and lodges, giving easy access to the water and a beautiful view. The lake is 2,000 acres and plenty of space for all sorts of water activities including swimming, kayaking, water skiing, and more.
The shore is 100% sand with a gradual depth increase, perfect for swimming.
At the Shing Wako Resort, we want you to have the best experience possible and provide many fun activities for you and the whole family. Boat rentals are available or you can bring your own! Lake Edward is stocked with walleye annually and also home to the northern pike, bass, sunfish and crappies making it a great fishing spot. Kayaks, canoes, paddleboards and lifejackets are all free to use with your cabin rental. The resort also has plenty of green space for sports and basketball, volleyball and tetherball courts. If you are visiting in the winter, Mount Ski Gull is an affordable ski hill perfect for the whole family!
The Brainerd Lakes Area also has over 1,200 miles of well-groomed trails for cross-country skiing and snowmobiling. No matter the season, the Shing Wako Resort is packed with fun things to do for everyone.
