  For those who have an interest in motorized exploring, this area is your playground. The Taconite Trail is a hub for snowmobilers during the winter. It runs from Ely to Grand Rapids and connects to local snowmobile trails and the various small towns that dot the landscape, making it a great, adventurous way to explore this beautiful, rustic, area. For ATV’s, head 20 minutes south to Chilsom to take on the Chisholm Trail, with hair pin turns and steep hills to conquer.
