Live and play like a local! Since you book directly with me (Heather), I can give you tips on local activities that your family and friends will love in Southern Minnesota’s Lakes Country. Things are less hectic here, so prepare to relax. Nearby small towns all offer something special you need to see for yourself: Mankato, Eagle Lake, Elysian, Waseca, Janesville and St. Peter
Bray Park (which is walking distance from the cabin) is on Madison Lake too. It has lots of green space for games and picnicking. Biking and hikers in your group can take to the trails at Sakatah Singing Hills! Enjoy it year round too. Go cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, and snowmobiling. Trail winds around wooded bluffs past scenic Madison, Ballantyne, and Duck Lakes.
Bring your own water toys, or rent them from The Boat Landing on 1446 acre Madison Lake. Kayaking, canoeing and Northern Pike fishing in Lakes Country can’t be beat! Explore several lakes, rivers and streams. All ages will love the fishing action right off the dock – bass, crappie or sunfish. With 3 public launches on the lake, getting all your watercrafts on the lake is easy.

Heather's lake home was a perfect, cozy stay for us! It's set on a gorgeous wooded lot on beautiful Madison Lake, MN within a quick drive to Mankato. Our king-size bed was SUPER comfortable, and there is a ton of room in the house, even for large groups. Heather has the house stocked with everything you could need, with clean bath & kitchen towels, soaps, and bedding all set, a kitchen fully-stocked with all the standard cooking supplies, tv, fire pit (bring your own wood!), extra blankets, board games, washer/dryer and laundry soap, and even some toys for little ones. Heather has a lovely home that is perfect for quiet get-away. The lake is beautiful and we enjoyed fishing and kayaking followed by s'mores in the fire ring. The neighbors were welcoming as well, sharing information about the area. We would have been thrilled if we could have stayed longer than 2 nights. Heidi

Heather’s cabin was perfect! From check in to check out, we had a wonderful experience. Lots of beds, couches, and living room spaces. The patio was perfect for an evening bonfire looking over the lake and grill for meals. Kitchen was well equipped so minimal packing was needed. We were all very impressed. Amanda
