Woods. Water. Wilderness. Wildlife. Walleye! This cabin and resort has it all. Greenstone Cabin is one of 15 well-spaced cabins at our remote Big Lake Wilderness Lodge. How remote? We're the most remote drive-in resort in northern Minnesota. You and your family or friends are going to love it in this Lakeview Cabin. Even the drive here through the Superior National Forest, along the scenic Echo Trail is memorable.
Unpack and get out there - with 1,800 acres of water, 14 islands, and numerous inlets and bays to fish and boat, Big Lake requires several days to explore. Bring a net, fishing gear and bait because this is one of the DNR's top-rated walleye lakes and also holds northern pike, smallmouth bass, and perch. Our fishing season opens here May 10th and your rental includes a free 14'/9.9hp fishing package.
Sleeping requirements: Master bedroom with king-size bed (can be split into 2 XL twins). Second bedroom with two twin beds. Full bath with tub.
Our Greenstone Cabin has a lake view through the large picture windows in the family room. You don’t need to pack kitchen supplies because the cabins has a well-stocked kitchen with full-size gas range, dishwasher, microwave, refrigerator/freezer, small electrical appliances, fully-equipped with dinnerware and cookware.
Satellite TV
Your off the beaten trail adventure will include fishing, hiking, maybe a BWCA canoe trip. We offer family-oriented remote Minnesota getaways spring through fall. That means 3 seasons of grilling! Use the Charcoal Weber grill, Adirondack outdoor furniture, and picnic table. But first, build up an appetite by hiking exceptional trails near the cabin.
Cabin rents Sat-Sat.
Taking the family on vacation? Here, you'll introduce them to life's most rewarding pleasures: World-class walleye fishing; fish fry shore lunches over a campfire; dense pine and birch forests; mother natures vistas that have remained unchanged for generations; a heaven full of stars (maybe Northern Lights); clean air and pure water.
One of natures pleasures is right here too: Explore the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness, the largest designated wilderness in the eastern US. Many of our guests take a day trip to canoe (easy to moderate "canoe country” routes), fish, swim or picnic there. Since you plan and book directly with us, we'll help you choose a BWCA route to meet your interests and even provide car-carriers for your canoe. There are three national scenic byways if you prefer to just drive around.
