Big Lake is a scenic lake with rocky shorelines with ledge rock points. Welcome to our remote Big Lake Wilderness Resort located 23 miles north of Ely, MN. Jasper is one of our 16 resort cabins on the lake. It’s not your typical resort though - your vacation experience embraces expansive solitude because we're the most remote drive-in resort in northern Minnesota.
Lakeshore at-home feeling ...Warm knotty pine great room, nice-sized deck, charcoal Weber grill, picnic table, and patio furniture. What a view of the lake! (right out your window) Well-equipped kitchen with a gas stove and oven, microwave, drip coffeemaker, toaster, refrigerator/freezer, and plenty of cookware and kitchen cabinets.

Cabin boasts two bedrooms, two bathrooms. One bedroom with a full bed and 3/4 bath, 2nd bedroom has a full bed, and set of twin bunks along with a full bath.

Our numerous hiking trails and close proximity to the famed Boundary Waters Canoe Area will have you exploring dense pine and birch forests with impressive vistas, or canoeing over 1200 miles of water routes. This entire area has remained virtually unchanged for generations. By foot or by boat, just pack your camera, a fishing pole, and a picnic lunch.
We are on site and will help you with all of your fishing, hiking, and conoeing needs.
Adjoining our Big Lake Wilderness Lodge, there are thousands of acres of remote wilderness lakes and rivers both inside and outside the Boundary Waters. We pretty much define life's most rewarding pleasures; Freshly caught fish ready for the fry pan, a heaven full of stars, vivid display of Northern Lights, clean air and pure waters.
Inside the BWCA: The glaciers left behind an “enormously” special place. Several thousand lakes and streams and over 1 million acres in size. If you are looking for a challenge and personal integration with nature, you found it. Canoe and portage in the spirit of the French Voyageurs of 200 years ago. Water adventures are endless: Boating, fishing, 10 swimming beaches, picnicking at one of 77 lake accesses, 13 fishing piers too.

Fee is $95 per week or $19 per night per pet.
Fishing boat, motors and pontoon boats are for rent. Deposits: A deposit of 50% of the cabin rate is required to secure your reservation. Deposits are due within 10 days of your reservation request. Payment in full for reserved cabin and equipment is due at check-in. If your cancellation notice is received less than 60 days in advance of arrival, refunds minus a $150 service fee will be made ONLY IF the cabin is rented to another party for the entire time of the original reservation.
