The family cook will love the kitchen! Full-size gas range, microwave, refrigerator/freezer, small electrical appliances, fully-equipped with dinnerware and cookware. Prepare meals outside on the lakeside deck. Fire up the charcoal Weber grill and relax around the picnic table, and patio furniture. Listen for the eerie wail of a loon echoing across Big Lake.

Roomy sleeping arrangement: Lakeside master bedroom has a queen bed and private three-quarter bath. Second bedroom has a twin over full bunk; third bedroom has queen bed. Double-sized futon for extra guests. Second bathroom with full tub/shower. Well equipped kitchen with extras: large crock pot, stock pots, blender, ninja juicer, air fryer, food processor and more.
Unique Features
Our 16 cabin Big Lake Wilderness Lodge is a remote wilderness resort located 23 miles north of Ely, MN on the scenic Echo Trail, which winds from Ely, MN to Crane Lake. Our main lodge has ice, firewood, and fresh water if you forget some basics.
Big Lake is a unique place of rugged beauty with 1,800 acres of water, 14 islands, and numerous inlets and bays. Bring your boat or rent one of our fishing boat/motor combo deluxe boats or pontoon boat (a great way for your group to stay together and enjoy miles of shoreline). Docking is included and so are the resort kayaks, canoes and paddleboats. Big Lake is exceptionally scenic.

Fish on! Get the net! Yellow perch and walleye are common. Northern pike, smallmouth bass, black crappie too.

Welcome to Canoe Country! The BWCA-Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness of northeastern Minnesota. After a day of “being" the modern day Voyageur paddling one of the most incredible places, you can return to our Voyageur Cabin. As evening comes, gather around the crackle and warm glow of an evening campfire for a fish fry! Get ready for a night sky studded with stars and (maybe) streaked with northern lights.
Day Trips by Canoe! We're surrounded by miles of easy to moderate "canoe country" routes that can be accomplished in a day. Ask us how we can help plan the route perfect for your group. Prefer dry routes? Within a few miles of the resort, there are exceptional hiking trails to explore.

Fishing boat, motors and pontoon boats are for rent. Deposits: A deposit of 50% of the cabin rate is required to secure your reservation. Deposits are due within 10 days of your reservation request. Payment in full for reserved cabin and equipment is due at check-in. If your cancellation notice is received less than 60 days in advance of arrival, refunds minus a $150 service fee will be made ONLY IF the cabin is rented to another party for the entire time of the original reservation.
