Birch Suite is our premium unit (perfect for 2). Listen to the birds chirping, the lake shore breeze, and the whistling trees. It’s time to return to a simpler life, just for a bit. Our cozy vacation rental offers the perfect retreat for couples. Of course, our 8 unit resort will accommodate dozens. The Birch Suite offers a great balance between rustic and modern -- making your stay comfortable, but still allowing you to enjoy the great outdoors. Complete with A/C, TV and microwave (in addition to all the usual). As with all our units, there is a 3 day minimum. Our weeks run Saturday to Saturday; during prime season reservations may not lap over weeks. Please call with questions.
You will love Lake Wabana– the spring-fed waters offer water clarity of 16 feet. You will also receive a 14 aluminum fishing boat with your stay. Unless you are bringing your own boat, then we will give you a place on the dock! The lake is ideal for vacationers looking to fish. Spend your afternoon on the lake, then when your return you have use to our fish cleaning facilities.
Water recreation is quite popular on Lake Wabana: swimming, tubing, fishing, and tubing. You are just 15 miles from Grand Rapids: shopping, restaurants, Showboat, Ironworld, and Garland Museum. The property is located in Chippewa National Forest and is popular for a variety of recreational activities like biking, hiking, and water activities. Keep your eyes open for deer, bald eagles, and bear.

Birch Bay Resort has been in existence for over 70 years, and has been owned and operated by the Hemmingson family since 1979. It was passed down to Lorrie & Jeff in 2011, but they have been involved in the daily operations for many, many years.
The resort evokes the memory of a simpler time yet offers modern conveniences such as a concrete boat landing, live wells for each cabin, boat & motor rentals, as well as the sale of gas and oil. If you forget something, chances are our little country store has what you need (ICE!).
