This cozy cabin at the Birch Bay Resort offers a fun vacation experience for all ages. The cabin is away from the hustle and bustle, but still offers modern amenities to make your vacation quite comfortable. The property is nestled in the heart of the Chippewa National Forest, right along Wabana Lake. As with all our units, there is a 3 day minimum. Our weeks run Saturday to Saturday; during prime season reservations may not lap over weeks. Please call with questions.
Walleye, northern, largemouth and smallmouth bass, perch and bluegill. A large lake means lots of recreational opportunity. Grab the skii's! Wade, swim, snorkel or tube. With water clarity up to 16 feet, you’ll love summer-splashing in Itasca County. Take a break from technology! Our rustic rentals have available wi-fi and cable TV, but no telephones in room. Our advice; find a fishing hole, read a book, relax on the dock – enjoy your week at Birch Bay Resort.
There are endless possibilities for fun at the Birch Bay Resort. Spend an afternoon on the water or relax outdoors with a good book. Make sure you visit Chippewa National Forest: biking, hiking, horseback riding, and winter sports are all popular. We also recommend visiting the beaches and dunes at the Forest! Plus you’re only 15 miles from Grand Rapids. Popular area attractions include the Showboat, shopping, Ironworld, and Garland Museum.

Birch Bay Resort has been in existence for over 70 years, and has been owned and operated by the Hemmingson family since 1979. It was passed down to Lorrie & Jeff in 2011, but they have been involved in the daily operations for many, many years.
The resort evokes the memory of a simpler time yet offers modern conveniences such as a concrete boat landing, live wells for each cabin, boat & motor rentals, as well as the sale of gas and oil. If you forget something, chances are our little country store has what you need (ICE!).
