Hines, Minnesota is a sportsman’s paradise, centrally located to a number of excellent fishing lakes and public hunting areas. The shoreline on the property at Blackduck Lodge & Resort belongs to Blackduck Lake, which is home to a natural population of bluegill, largemouth bass, rock bass, yellow perch, black crappie, bullheads, northern pike and freshwater drum. However, it’s best known for annually stocked walleye. Ask us when you check in, and we’ll be glad to point the way to some of our favorite fishing spots on Blackduck Lake. Other nearby fishing holes include Upper Red Lake, Pimushe Lake, Cass Lake, Lake Bemidji, Benjamin Lake and Turtle River Lake.
In addition to the famously plentiful lakes, this area of northern Minnesota is home to the Chippewa National Forest and the Minnesota Wildlife Management Areas in Beltrami County. Both offer public hunting during certain seasons, and the Chippewa National Forest has hundreds of hunters trails that lead through dense natural deer and grouse habitat. Other favorite activities in the area include golfing, ATV trails, and shopping and dining in downtown Bemidji. Give us a call, and we can provide restaurant recommendations, in addition to local hunting information.
