This Minnesota lake view vacation property has 200 feet of shoreline on beautiful West Leaf Lake with a Main Cabin and Guest Cabin for extra capacity when you need it. A dock and boatlift make it easy to venture out from your Otter Tail County lake cabin for fishing and wildlife watching.
The Main Cabin was built in the 1950’s and has a rustic feel to it on the inside with it’s wood planking and built-ins. The bath, kitchen, and living room have all been remodeled. The Main Cabin features two bedrooms, an enclosed porch facing the lake for great views, and a patio/grassy lawn with a table and chairs. The full kitchen has a refrigerator, stove/oven, coffee pot, toaster, microwave, pots and pans, silverware, dishes and cooking utensils. The quaint dining room table seats eight for your home cooked meals at the lake.
If you need additional space, you can spill over into the Guest Cabin. The vacation cabin was recently remodeled and has 1 large bedroom, a bath, and a kitchenette located in an enclosed porch that contains a small refrigerator, microwave and coffee pot. This is a nice option for families vacationing together. You may just rent the main cabin, sleeping 5, and a hide-a-bed couch, or if more space is needed, you may also rent the guest cabin, which sleeps 4.
Sleeping Arrangements: The Main Cabin: Bedroom 1 has a king bed; Bedroom 2 has 1 twin and 2 twin bunk beds. The Guest Cabin has 1 Bedroom - 2 full beds; rollaway bed.
There is a dock and lift to store your own boat or canoe.
Your lakeside cabin in western Minnesota comes with yard games such as bocce ball, and a big grassy front lawn for your next family tournament games! Or maybe you’ll just want to take a leisurely nap in the recliner lawn chairs in the shade and listen to the sounds of the wildlife surrounding you. You might even see a beaver or muskrat, enjoy local songbirds, and be sure to bring your binoculars to watch eagles and osprey. There is a half mile(or more) country road to take walks.
You won’t be able to resist casting a line from the cabin’s dock in the reeds, cattails and water lilies to lure bluegills and bass for your dining room table. A public sand swimming beach is only one mile away.
Take a picturesque drive on the Otter Trail Scenic Byway through a part of Minnesota that includes wetlands, wildlife, and 1,000 lakes! Historic Phelps mills is about a 30 minute drive, or take a walk at Glendalough or Maplewood State parks, not too far from there. Ottertail, Battle Lake and Perham are nearby towns to explore, especially if a rainy day should occur.

There is first the quietness. This unique "home away from home" offers a sublime place of restful retreat. I love the long driveway, the sheltering trees, the cozy "corner of the lake" to luxuriate in a calmness which is untouched by the frenzy of so many schedules. Then there is the convenience. A beautiful setting for strolls, fishing, family-fun, and an "easy" ambiance where you know that the owner takes care of the place. Quality, beauty, and durability is at your finger tips. I also love the well-maintained facilities. These people know how to cater to the need for relaxation which respects simple indulgences such as reclining chairs in a shaded porch close to the waters edge.
This is an amazing place for relaxation, renewal, and peace. You will want to return once you have experienced the stuff out of which an authentic vacation is made. May 2012.

My wife, Jan, and I first purchased our cabin back in 1998, while I was actively serving as a pastor in a nearby church. We visited numerous cabin sites but the beauty and warmth of this cabin site caught our attention. The cabin exudes peace and quiet and was a great get away for our family. However with my family grown and out of the nest and with my retirement, Jan and I decided to share our peaceful place with others. My favorite spot as I tell all our guests continues to be the cabin porch so close to the edge of the water yet such a relaxing place to read, watch the lake, or take a nap.
