The interior living spaces at The Gathering are fully furnished and decorated in a traditional Northwoods style. Make yourself at home in the cozy great room with hardwood floors, heavy beam construction, and large windows to let in the light and the lake and woodland views.
The sitting room has a sofa and two recliners gathered around the gas fireplace, TV and DVD player. A dining table with Windsor chairs offers seating for six, and the homey, fully equipped kitchen has dishes, modern appliances, and a breakfast counter with additional stool seating.
The master bedroom is located on the main floor and has a queen-sized bed, a connected bath and a lakeside view through French doors leading to a large enclosed deck. The loft has one full bed, two twins, a set of full bunk beds and a trundle. The basement houses a second queen suite with a full bath.
The Gathering has a charcoal grill, a grassy lawn, a fire pit and a private boat dock on Big Lake. The use of two canoes and three solo kayaks are complementary with your cabin rental — we invite you to use them to explore the scenic lakeshore! This home is also close to Big Lake Wilderness Lodge, where you can rent additional watercraft for your party. Hiking trails and BWCAW are located nearby.

Wife and I spent our first week here in early June and just fell in love with the cozyness of this cabin. The Manager was attentive and promptly took care of any request we had. We had them rent us a boat for the week and it was waiting at the dock upon our arrival; clean, looked almost new and never had a problem with it. Returning next year and we can't wait!
We spent a wonderful week watching the fall colors and the deer. The pictures do not do the home justice! The home was clean and very comfortable and cozy. The owner was very helpful and someone was always available if we had a question. We would stay there again in a heartbeat.
Ely is a very special place that allows us much needed rest in a truly beautiful and comfortable place surrounded by nature's finest.
The home was beautiful! We would recommend it to family and friends. Owners are very helpful if you have a question. We were there when the leaves were at fall color peak — just a wonderful, relaxing vacation. The views from the home of the lake were breathtaking. The grounds at the cabin were quiet and tranquil. We swam, we played cards, we played yard games, and enjoyed many fires at night with smores. We were able to relax and reconnect in a beautiful setting.
