Large modern cabin on private lake and lots of seclusion. The 300 acre Horseshoe Lake, has no public access and lots of crystal clear water. Cabin time at this remote retreat includes a fabulous sandy swimming area, a private dock, plus a second dock on the point accessible by short hiking trail.
Open floor plan inside: The main level living room has a wood burning fireplace and walk-out deck with lawn furniture and gas BBQ grill - propane provided. Dining area is just off kitchen (seats 8 with additional seating for 4 at kitchen counter). Kitchen has dishwasher, microwave, coffeemaker, cookware and dinnerware, dishwashing soap, garbage bags, kitchen towels and pot holders provided; Plus a small kitchenette off lower level family room.

Things To Do
Horseshoe Lake is known to have fishing for northern pike, bass, pan fish, and the occasional walleye - all perfect for the end of day fish fry!
With over 100 acres of property you know there’s lots of private hiking trails. If you are visiting during winter, you will also enjoy direct access to the Taconite Snowmobile Trail System and summer guests can access this same trail system for miles of additional hiking possibilities (The first 6 miles from Grand Rapids are paved for biking and in-line skating). The trails stretches 165 miles from Grand Rapids to Ely.
Ely is just 13 miles from the retreat! It is one of America’s last pure outdoor adventure destinations. Nestled in the expansive Superior National Forest, Ely has over 500 lakes within 20 miles. Forests are home to abundant wildlife from moose, deer, black bear, and timberwolves to loons, bald eagles, osprey and songbirds.
