Escape to a cozy, off‑grid retreat in our Moose Cabin, a glamping gem tucked into the pines just an hour north of the Twin Cities. This thoughtfully designed A‑frame (tiny) cabin sits on a secluded site at Nature Retreats MN, where no vehicles are allowed beyond the parking area to preserve the wildlife. Your host will help transport your gear to the campsite; after a short walk you'll discover a private oasis perfect for couples or solo travelers seeking quiet time in nature.
Inside the fully heated A‑frame, a large, comfortable bed awaits, with a small couch for an additional guest. The compact kitchen area has a gas stove, water for cooking and washing up, and everything you need to prepare simple meals—pots, pans, dishes, cups, compostable cutlery and cooking utensils. Step outside to grill under the trees on the provided propane grill, then dine alfresco around your own fire table; all propane is included for your stay.
The cabin is intentionally off‑grid, inviting you to disconnect from electronics and reconnect with the woods. A short walk from your site brings you to our community shower house with hot water and a separate bathroom; there is no electricity at the cabin itself. Two bird‑feeding stations and a private wildlife viewing blind on the property offer unique opportunities to watch deer, songbirds and other forest residents up close, while evenings bring incredible stargazing under dark skies.
What makes this tiny A‑frame so special is the combination of wilderness seclusion and year‑round comfort. Hidden away on a private campsite with no neighboring cabins in sight, you’ll enjoy complete privacy while still having a fully insulated and heated cabin to keep you cozy through any Minnesota season. It's a true glamping experience: the woodsy A‑frame architecture, quality linens and thoughtful amenities let you soak up the beauty of the outdoors without sacrificing comfort.
The site is off‑grid by design—there is no electricity—so you can truly unwind. Yet everything you need for a stress‑free stay is provided: an ample supply of propane for the stove and fire table, potable water, cooking gear and even a coffee maker. Guests love sipping coffee on the deck as birds flock to the nearby feeders, relaxing by the fire table under a canopy of stars, and using the private wildlife blind to photograph deer, turkeys and other critters from just a few yards away.
On the property, days are filled with simple pleasures. Start your morning listening to birdcalls from the feeding stations, then wander over to the viewing blind to see what wildlife might show up. Enjoy a lazy afternoon reading in the hammock or exploring the on-site nature trails, and as evening falls, gather around the fire table for s'mores and stargazing. With no traffic or neighboring cabins, the only sounds you'll hear are wind through the pines and the crackling of the fire.
