Resort amenities include a sauna, game room, volleyball & basketball courts, a playground round and a beach that did not skimp out on sand - everyone can build sand castles.
Before you step in to Cabin 18, you’ll notice the large wrap around deck with lots of tables, chairs, benches and a great firepit. Wood floors stretch from living room & dining room to the kitchen. Newly renovated with Knotty pine ceilings too. The screened in porch is bright and sunny thanks to the large windows all around and a sliding glass door leading to the deck.
Well stocked kitchen with elbow room. Bring as many snacks as you want, we have lots of cupboard space and new counters. Cabin 18 is one of 26 cabins (or duplex) at this historic Minnesota resort. This is our 102nd year of welcoming guests to the shores of White Iron Lake!
Sleeping arrangements: One bedroom has a queen bed, one double bed, two twins and sleeper sofa.
Reminder: guests will need to bring their own bath and dish towels.
Dining table is next to a large picture window overlooking the dock, lake and islands - what a view! Oh yeah, we have easy access to The Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness (BWCAW) - a one-of-a-kind million acre water park for adventurers.
How’s the fishing? White Iron Lake and the entire BWCAW has outstanding fishing. Catch trophy walleye and hard-fighting crappie; cast for bass or net a lunker northern pike. Some of the best tourism draws in Ely are the North American Bear Center, International Wolf Center, Dorothy Molter Museum, Trezona Trail Trailhead (paved trail - groomed in the winter for skiing), Bass Lake Trail (hike along the lake), Kawishiwi Falls Trail (short hike to the falls). There are more than 20 trails of various lengths and difficulty. The best part is that no matter which way you point your compass, you’ll be surrounded by the Superior National Forest.

Up to 6 people. Since you book directly with at White Iron Beach Resort these rates do not include any third-party booking site service fees. The rate is our rate plus tax only.
Peak season at White Iron Beach runs from mid-June to mid-August, with weekly rates of $1658.00.
During the off-season (mid May - mid June and mid August thru October), weekly rentals are available at a rate of $1326.00.
Weekly rentals run from Saturday to Saturday. Check-in is available starting at 3:00 pm with check-out scheduled for 9:00 am. A deposit of 30 percent of the rental fee or $300.00 (whichever is greater) is required to reserve the cabin. No smoking.
Nightly rentals are available upon request.
We had the BEST time. First visit to northern Minnesota for my grandkids and son in law, they loved it all. The last night of our visit we went to the beach and looked a sky full of stars. We loved that the kids could borrow games,shoot pool, and listen to music by the campfire. Cabin was great for our large family, the resort owners were very nice, and very helpful. Just one week ago, we were relaxing at White Iron Beach Resort, and we definitely miss it already! The resort and the surrounding area are simply gorgeous. WIBR is absolutely beautiful. We found it this year and have been back a couple of times and have another trip planned for August. We LOVE it here. Beautiful setting. Very well maintained resort. Charming, clean, comfortable cabins with great views. Hosts are always ready to help. All the amenities you could ask for. The Lodge adds a lot. The pontoon boat rental was reasonably priced and we were able to catch some nice fish from it. The owners were available throughout our stay and were more than accommodating. I didn't walk the grounds much, but it seemed that most(if not all) the cabins were within 75 yards of the water. I would highly recommended WIBR to anyone looking for a great place to escape near Ely. Jeremy Grev

White Iron Beach Resort in northern Minnesota is entering its 102nd year of outstanding personal service. As Ely, MN’s oldest wilderness resort (the original camp was founded in 1917), White Iron Beach Resort is a historic tourist destination with unique access to the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness and a storied past that includes fur trading, mining for iron ore and the native Ojibwe culture.
We (Kerry and Sandy Davis) bought the property 24 years ago, having enjoyed similar resorts during our own family vacations. Now, we are proud to be a part of the memories created in the beautiful setting at White Iron Beach Resort.
