Reviews

We loved every minute of our stay here. Bill and Jeri were amazing hosts and the entire property is well cared for. Our two small kids never ran out of things to do - playgrounds, sand, water, running, yard games, etc. We loved the huge fire pits at the beach every night. The cabins has everything you could possibly need for preparing meals. We’re already trying to plan a return trip. This is such an amazing hidden gem! Wendy Berry
Beautiful resort. The cabins are very comfy, it has direct access to the lake with a beach for the whole family to enjoy. The owners are really nice and strike up good conversation. Great atmosphere, can't recommend it enough. Jesse French
We met our adult children at the resort for Father’s Day and had a great time. The owner made sure we had everything we needed. They have all kinds of yard games to play i.e., spike ball, volleyball, horseshoe, Kubb and others. We caught bluegills one right after the other right from the shoreline in front of the cabin. The cabins are nice and clean. We had one with a deck that was right on the lake and so pretty! I would recommend this resort to all families for a great northern Minnesota experience. Nancy Kienzle
The water on Boot Lake is SO clear and clean! The loon parents and their babies were so fun to watch! The beach is nice and clean. We spent everyday at the beach! We all enjoyed using the kayaks, paddle boards and canoes. Every morning the beach was raked. It was a nice touch. The slide was a favorite of all the kids! I hope that will always be there!
The best part was the screened in porch. We spent everynight out on the porch playing games and just enjoying together without being bothered by the mosqitos! We truly enjoyed our stay and plan to return! I can't wait to see what new things will be added when we return! Shari Bates Herout
Bill had some wonderful family activities planned (Sunday potluck with pulled-pork and ribs, Pancake breakfast, sing-along, snow cones and limbo by the beach). He also helped children and parents cut down a dead tree and replant, then look for wild blueberries. Ping pong, kayaking, paddle boats and boards, games and puzzles available for guests to use. The cabin was clean and kitchen was completely stocked. We came with our son with special needs and Jeri was totally gracious to help us with his laundry needs. They were available, courteous and warm. Hidden gem! Treasure of a place! Kathy Gbd
Great resort, everything you could want all right here. Great cabins, friendly people, beautiful resort! Our cabin, Basswood is a 3 bedroom cabin, very comfortable stay for the 6 in our party. Canoes, paddle boards, peddle boats, kayaks, water slides, floating dock, Lilly pads all available for use. Bill and Jeri made our stay fun, very personable and gracious people! Potluck, relay races, pancake breakfast, nature walk with the kids, and a beach party- opportunities into interact with other guests. Nightly non fires and even stories told around the fire! Rainy days were no problem, large beautiful screened in porches and fun games available at the lodge- with a chance to win ice cream treats. Can’t wait to come back next year! Abbie Kjellman
