Looking for some Northeastern MN seclusion? Private property in this area of the Vermilion River is limited and public access is difficult. You have direct access to approximately 17 miles to navigate of the 49 mile long river system. The Vermilion River is deep, slow moving, so it offers tranquil fishing and sightseeing. Housekeeping Cabin 5 is clean, with hot and cold running water. Main appliances like refrigerator, stove, shower, pots and pans and dishes are supplied. Also included are pillows, linens and blankets, gas furnaces, bai/ice/gas and picnic tables are on grounds.
Our cabins are cozy, easy to relax in. Two cabins sleep 1-3 people with the 5 remaining sleeping up to 8 people per cabin.
Pets are welcome for a $30.00 pet fee per pet per stay.
Fish are plenty, eaters and the BIG!
No doubt this will be the vacation most remembered! Plenty of other activities to do in our area other than fishing and hunting or the standard! RELAXING!!
The wildlife! Guests can expect to see moose, deer, bear, beaver, otter, as well as the majestic birds; eagles, osprey, loons, and more. Sightseeing is truly and experience to take in. You have lots of lake choices too: there are over 3,000 lakes for Walleye, Northern Pike, Muskie, Smallmouth Bass, Largemouth Bass and Lake Trout.
The river is banked on both sides by wild rice and due to water fluctuations there is no steadfast depth. On the average it varies from 10 to 30 feet. There are some holes that are 50 feet.
ATV/UTV trails in the area or venture om the old logging roads behind the resort. Golfing, dining, and church are a short distance away.
Our resort is remote and private. With only a handful of privately owned cabins on the Vermilion River and public access to the river difficult, other than the guests in our resort, chances of seeing other folks are rare! What that means to you is a more secluded fishing experience with less time fighting other boats and more time fighting trophy fish!
Finding the fish isn’t hard up here! But, we do have Guides available. Fishing large bays, such as Horseshoe bay is really like fishing lakes within the river - feeder streams and creeks flow into the Vermilion River, such mouths are often fish-filled. Vacation along the shores of Vermilion River, amid sparkling waters and majestic pines.
Bear hunting is excellent. Baited stands are provided by a licensed guide in Northeastern Minnesota bear management area 25. Northern Minnesota abounds in Ruffed Grouse, Spruce Grouse and Duck.
Hike/bike/sightsee the waterfalls/boat/canoe/fish/hunt/ATV/UTV/golf or relax. We have the spot for you ! There's a bear sanctuary or bogs in Orr MN too!

Packing tip: We would suggest that you bring food although there is a grocery store in Orr Minnesota. Bring your own towel, dish soap, dish clothe, garbage bags, toilet paper and pet waste disposal bags.. Our cabins are housekeeping cabins only. Please pick up your fishing license before arrival.
I just wanted to drop a note and thank you for a very relaxing week at your resort. My husband Jim and I were there the week of 9/10 to 9/16. The fishing was great, the scenery was awesome. Staying there that week became a very wonderful fishing experience. Your staff was very helpful, polite, and friendly. The cabin was very clean and had most everything a person needed for comfort. This place is still great! It's now going to be our getaway place. Good fishing on the Vermillion River and absolutely gorgeous scenery. This year we happened across a moose swimming across the river, as well as a few little spotted fawns and mamma. It's kept up nicely, no trash or dog poop all over, lol.
