We think this is the place for your family to unwind and find out what makes a great MN vacation experience. You might just find yourself reserving the same week every year. Minnesota fishing, campfires, a canoe, paddle boards and much more is all part of your special cabin time.
The resort swimming area has a slide and platform. Kids will always remember feeding the chipmunks and resort rabbits. A great Minnesota lake vacation is hard to pass up. All cabin guests can enjoy the resort’s log lodge which offers something for everyone - food, games, gift shop, laundry, and ample seating. All resort guests can enjoy the concession stand serving pizza, sandwiches, pop, candy, slushes, soft-serve ice cream. Of course, what’s a resort without a teen Game Room? We have video games, pool table and juke box. Cribs (upon request prior to arrival). Laundromat - Coin Operated - Memorial Day through Labor Day.

Every cabin is unique at the Hyde-a-way bay resort. If you have a larger group, or are thinking about a family reunion, we have a total of 16 modern housekeeping cabins. We even we have an 18 unit seasonal RV park. The swimming and big beach are wonderful, plus you’re surrounded by wildlife! Hoping in your boat (or one of ours) and cruise down the shoreline that winds all the way to Hackensack - there you will find food, treats, and a unique shopping experience.
Did you know that Hackensack is home of Lucette Diana Kensack (Mrs. Paul Bunyan)? Perhaps our greatest assets are Minnesota blue skies, clear water, and fishing at its very best - with your own boat or one of ours. We even have a boat landing right here at the resort.
After a day of Birch Lake fun, or taking in some area activities, head back to Cabin 12 for some quiet time - gas fireplace, beautiful knotty pine interiors, carpet, shower, microwave, range, refrigerator, dishes, and bed linens are provided for guests. Bring your own towels and personal items.
We are only 8 minutes from Leech Lake. In fact, we are in the Heart of Minnesota's 10,000 lakes! 127 of them are in a 10-mile radius of Hackensack, so there's always new places to explore. Catch Walleye, Northern, Bass, Panfish and put our our fish cleaning house with stainless steel cleaning tables to good use. Resort offers endless fun: Fishing, campfires by the lake, 2 Rainbow Playground sets, volleyball, horseshoes, basketball, swimming, birdwatching, paddle boats, canoe, paddle boards.
A few events to keep in mind: Back to Hack in February, the Sweetheart Canoe Derby in June, and the September Chainsaw Show. Keep us in mind for your deer and bear hunting trips too.

Includes lake access, lake shore, lodge, boat dock and ramp, all amenities on the property and your cabin with one watercraft dock space or spot. We Prefer Cash and Checks but also Accept major credit cards. Once your stay is complete and you are settling your bill, you have the choice of leaving your $200 booking deposit to hold the same cabin for the same week next year or allowing it to be open for others to reserve for the next year. Should you find it necessary.
