This is our private, cozy 1 bedroom cabin that is tucked back 191 feet form the water and beach. Enjoy the deck and the peaceful sounds of nature as you relax and grill out. Couples, honeymooners and small families, you’ve found the perfect cabin. Experience a great MN lake-vacation, plus be surrounded by mature woods. Just a few steps away is Minnesota fishing, campfires, a canoe, paddle boards and many other resort amenities - all part of your quaint cabin time. You might just find yourself reserving the same week every year.
All cabin guests can enjoy the resort’s huge Log Lodge which offers something for everyone - food, games, gift shop, laundry, and ample seating. All resort guests can enjoy the concession stand serving pizza, sandwiches, pop, candy, slushes, soft-serve ice cream. Just because you slightly off the lake doesn't mean you can enjoy the lake: We offer basic to luxury boats, or you can rent a pontoon boat for the day.
Cabin 16 has new windows and new log siding! The Novotny's invite you to stay at their Hyde-A-Way Bay in the Heart of Minnesota's 10,000 lakes! 127 lakes are in a 10-mile radius of Hackensack, so there's always FRESH water to explore. We are only 8 minutes from Leech Lake too. Birch Lake offers fishing at its very best - in your boat or one of ours. We even have a boat landing right here at the resort. If you do bring your own boat, there is no docking fee for your first boat.
Every cabin is unique at the Hyde-a-way bay resort. Even if you have a group of more than 12, or are thinking about a family reunion, we have a total of 16 modern housekeeping cabins. We even we have an 18 unit seasonal RV park.
From the beach to town BY WATER? That’s right, hop in your boat (or one of ours) and cruise down the shoreline that reaches all the way to the town of Hackensack. Did you know that Hackensack is home of Lucette Diana Kensack (Mrs. Paul Bunyan)?
Resort offers endless fun: Fishing, campfire pits, 2 Rainbow playground sets, volleyball, horseshoes, basketball, swimming, birdwatching, paddle boats, canoe, paddle boards.
Nearby activities include golf courses; biking the Paul Bunyan Trails (but don’t forget your water bottles as there is no water along the trail from Hackensack to Walker); hike the Itasca State Park or the Deep Portage Reserve. Biking around the Chippewa National Forest, or poke around area Flea Markets. Feeling like it’s your lucky day? Try your luck at the nearby casino. Time your trip: Back to Hack in February, the Sweetheart Canoe Derby in June, and the September Chainsaw Show. Cabin 16 is perfect for a small group of hunters - the deer and bear hunting is great.

Includes lake access, lake shore, lodge, boat dock and ramp, all amenities on the property and your cabin with one watercraft dock space or spot. We Prefer Cash and Checks but also Accept major credit cards. Once your stay is complete and you are settling your bill, you have the choice of leaving your $200 booking deposit to hold the same cabin for the same week next year or allowing it to be open for others to reserve for the next year. Should you find it necessary.
