Beaverwatch Cabin 1 at Moose Lake Resort sits close to the Lodge yet retains its own privacy. The cabin’s wrap-around deck looks south across the bay, offering lovely views of the lake and surrounding woods. Inside, two bedrooms provide flexible sleeping options—one bedroom has a king bed that can be split into twins, and the other has two twin beds. There is also a sleeper sofa and a convenient three-quarter bath.
Like all of our cabins, Beaverwatch is fully furnished to make you feel at home. The kitchen is stocked with cooking and eating utensils; linens and bedding are provided, and the living and dining areas offer plenty of space to gather. Modern comforts such as air-conditioning and Wi‑Fi are included, while large windows frame the lake views. Outside, guests enjoy a private dock and boat, a picnic table and charcoal grill, and a fire pit for evenings under the stars. Guests should bring their own towels.
From the deck you’re only steps from Moose Lake where you can watch the sun sparkle on the water or listen to loons call at dusk. Whether you’re planning a week‑long summer vacation or a quiet autumn escape, this lakeside cabin offers a memorable Northwoods experience. With space for up to four guests, Beaverwatch Cabin 1 is ideal for families or couples looking for a tranquil retreat that still provides easy access to our resort amenities.
Beaverwatch Cabin 1 stands out for its wrap‑around deck and south‑facing bay views. Having your own private dock and boat means you can fish or explore the lake whenever you like, and the cabin’s proximity to the Lodge gives you access to social spaces while still enjoying a secluded setting. The two‑bedroom layout and sleeper sofa allow for flexibility, and the tastefully furnished interior blends rustic charm with modern convenience.
Another unique aspect of Beaverwatch is the collection of included amenities. Each cabin rental comes with a boat, and guests can easily launch additional boats or rent motors and pontoons. A picnic table, charcoal grill and fire pit extend the living space outdoors, and the cabin is air‑conditioned for comfort during summer. The resort also offers a laundry facility and fish‑cleaning house, so you can spend less time worrying about logistics and more time creating memories on the lake.
Moose Lake Resort is a haven for water lovers. You can take out a canoe, kayak, paddle boat or stand‑up paddle board, swim in the clear water or try sailing and pontoon boating. For a bit more excitement, there’s wakeboarding, water skiing and tubing, and of course fishing for walleye, perch and panfish. One boat with oars is included with each cabin rental, and motor or pontoon rentals are available by the day or week.
On land, the resort offers miles of hiking and biking trails, disc golf, pickleball and a three‑hole golf course. Guests can also enjoy horseshoes, volleyball, basketball, badminton, bocce and croquet. Wildlife viewing and bird watching are popular pastimes, and the Lady Slipper Scenic Byway provides a scenic route for drives or cycling. If you want to explore the area, Cass Lake is 18 miles away, Bemidji is about 26 miles to the east, and Blackduck is 16 miles north.
Families appreciate the sandy beach with a diving platform, kayaks, paddleboats, paddleboards, sailboat and canoes; jet skis aren’t allowed to keep the lake peaceful. Kids love the playground’s little cabin playhouse, sandbox and climbing structure, and there’s a teen room with a pool table and games as well as a Blue Ox room attached to the Lodge that seats 16. The Lodge itself offers a welcoming place to socialize, play pool or cards, and relax by the fireplace; a kitchen is available for larger gatherings.
As the day winds down, gather around a bonfire, read a book, nap in a hammock or simply soak in the tranquility of the Northwoods. Whether you’re planning to host a family reunion, attend a lakeside wedding or corporate retreat, or just unwind with loved ones, our resort and the surrounding region offer countless ways to make lasting memories.

Moose Lake Resort has been a cherished family enterprise for generations. The resort was purchased in 1946 by Del and Elvera Hall, who operated it with seven rustic cabins, a cow named Daisy Mae for making homemade ice cream, and renowned fishing. In 1972, after a brief change in ownership, Jack Buhn and brothers Paul and Richard Stennes bought the property and spent decades remodeling, adding new cabins and updating the grounds. Today we continue to honor their legacy by providing clean, fully furnished lakeview cabins and warm hospitality; many guests return year after year because staying here has become part of their family tradition.
