From the moment you arrive you will be drawn to a large wrap-around deck and a breath taking views of Lake Kabetogama. Inside has cozy carpeting and is finished in knotty pine. Gas Fireplace (new 2016). Drop anchor and stick around for awhile because the fishing on our beautiful open water is legendary. Kabetogama is not your average residential lake - miles of pristine undeveloped shoreline and it is one of four lakes that make up Voyageurs National Park. Walleye, Northern Pike, smallmouth bas, jumbo perch and slab crappies. Northern Lights is one of Minnesota's finest Family Fishing Resorts.
Our 13 unit resort is in a secluded bay on 16 acres. The road ends here and the wilderness waterways begin - winding through hundreds of islands, bays, coves, rock bluffs and gorges. Bring your boat or rent one of ours, we have an extensive dock system in the harbor. 16’ and 18’ fishing boats and 21’ and 22’ pontoons ready to go.
Sleeping arrangement: Master bedroom has a king size bed and patio door leading to the deck. A spectacular view of the lake. 2nd large bedroom has 3 twins.
The Muskie has its own private picnic point with fire ring and hammock. The family cook will love the modern kitchen with dishwasher and gas grill on the deck. All ages will love our warm beach and massive floating water park. We went way beyond your basics: aqua trampoline, acqua tower & climbing wall, slide and a 20’ launch, aqua log & trapeze. You should see how the kids run from the sauna to the floating water park. These cabin time memories will last forever.
The Aurora room at the main lodge has a large library of DVD/VHS tapes and satellite TV. You will also find snacks, pop, frozen pizza (& pizza oven) etc.
There are numerous restaurants/bars in the area less than 3 miles by car. For a real treat though, go to dinner by boat!
To start you vacation off right, come to our Welcome Dinner Saturday night. During the week we have Youth Quest activities for kids 5 to 17. Make new resort friends and go on hikes, canoe, kayak, build crafts, or enjoy a trip into an interior wilderness lake. Everyone in your family will have things to do right here at the resort. Play horse shoes, lawn games, beach volleyball, foosball, ping pong and more. Hike the resort trails or put on your voyageurs hat for some real adventure at Voyageurs National Park.
"The Park" is a water-based park where you must take to the water. Spend a day surrounded by an environment of great beauty the same way the French-Canadian voyageurs did during the late 1700s and early 1800s. Mingle with a Boreal forest, marshes, rocky outcrops and lakeshore that welcome visitors. Watch for Eastern timber wolves, bald eagles, moose and black bears. A full-day, 6.5-hour cruise is fun for the entire family.
