Sandy River Retreat is located in the Beautiful Northwoods of Minnesota near Debs, Mn. about 26 miles NW of Bemidji. The cabin sits on 5 acres of wooded land with a rolling grass lawn surrounded by oak, pine, birch and maple trees! Cabin is attached to 1100 acres of state land.
This cozy cabin sleeps 6 people comfortably with 2 bedrooms which include a queen bed in each. A stairway leads up to a cozy loft with 2 twin beds plus room for an extra cot . If a pack-n-play is needed for little ones, just inquire!
The main cabin has an open floor plan with hardwood flooring throughout. The modern kitchen with island includes a range, full refrigerator/freezer, microwave, coffee maker, etc. All cooking utensils, dinnerware and linens are provided. An expandable table seats 4-8 people.
The living room features a full sized sofa, 3 recliner/rockers, a natural gas fireplace, and a 55"HD TV. The cabin is complete with a 3/4 Bath with shower. Cabin footage is 936 sq. feet.
From the patio door, you walk out on a large deck and enjoy a view of wildlife at the edge of the woods and birds singing in the trees!

This Northern Minnesota cabin is perfect for a relaxing getaway in the beautiful Northwoods! The cabin sits by itself. You will have all the privacy and tranquility you want! There are many opportunities for excellent fishing, hunting, snowmobiling, hiking, and any outdoor activity that interests you!! Hundreds of acres of public land to spread your wings and enjoy!
We welcome pets as we have a dog kennel with 2 beds and port-a-kennels provided for sleeping for your furry pets!
Canoes and kayaks available for rent!
Excellent fishing lakes are nearby. Balm Lake and Dellwater Lake within 5 miles! Clearwater Lake is 8 miles from cabin .Driving distance to area lakes are: Lake Bemidji - 26 miles, Blackduck Lake-31 miles and Upper Red Lake(Waskish) -65 miles. You can fish for walleye, perch, crappie, bass, northern pike and bluegill/sunfish. Enjoy a day of kayaking or canoeing on nearby rivers or lakes! Your cabin experience can include Bonfires, reading, napping, bird, deer or even squirrel watching on the deck or near the campfire! Playing Cards or board games if the weather doesn't cooperate! Or just RELAXING!
Take a relaxing walk on the trails right out the door!
Winter activities can be ice fishing on nearby lakes, snowshoeing or cross-country skiing right out the door, snowmobiling on groomed trails within 1 mile. Down-hill and cross-country skiing at Buena Vista Ski Resort . After a fun-filled day, relax next to the gas fireplace with a warm cup of hot chocolate.
Other nearby attractions include Itasca State Park, Buena Vista State Park, Paul and Babe, Paul Bunyan Animal Land, Headwaters Science Center, Bemidji Speedway, several golf courses and unique shops in Bemidji and surrounding area.
The Cabin is located about just one mile north of the town of Debs. Debs is famous for its 4th of July parade ( goes around twice so you can enjoy it even more)! Other activities nearby are the Dragon Boat Races on Lake Bemidji, Clearwater and Beltrami County fairs, Gonvick Rodeo. All within a 40 mile radius. The Seven Clans Casino is within 10 miles.
The surrounding area gives way to great hunting in the many parcels of county/state public land. Also, many trails for ATV riding or taking hikes and viewing the endless north woods beauty!
