Escape to a private, serene wilderness setting on 85 acres with 3,000’ shoreline. Cedar Cabin is one of our 4 cabins at Black Bay Camp! Our Cedar Cabin is one of 4 lakefront cabins, it is the largest and it has been completely renovated with raised ceiling, cathedral windows, new carpet and electric heat.
Inside is a kitchen with ample utensils. A range, microwave, full size refrigerator (plus another one in the main Lodge), coffee maker and table settings for 4, etc. Down by the lake is free use of 1 fishing boat with oars, 2-person canoe, kayaks (3 available) and a peddle boat. Bringing your own boat? The boat launch is to the west of the Lodge. Just down the road is Cook, MN and its wonderful gift shops, fishing tackle shops and more.
Sleeping arrangement: 1 BR queen bed, 1 BR extra-long twin bunk beds. Living area with double sofa bed. Bathroom with toilet, sink and shower.
Refer to descriptions for Birch, Aspen, and Larch for additional resort features.
Comfortably and attractively furnished in a bear theme - significantly nicer than other housekeeping resorts. Cedar Cabin is 25 feet from the water! Guests have access to the Lodge where your family and friends can find a big screen TV, microwave, refrigerator, 2 card/game tables, plus a great covered lakeside screen porch that is 10 feet from the water.
Other unique resort amenities include a gazebo located high on the bluff, 80 feet above the water - perfect for card games, reading a book or cocktails at sundown. A sauna - look for the large, wood-fired lakeside building. A fully-equipped fish cleaning house and a central fire pit (with plenty of free wood).
Maid service included mid-week for bathrooms only; more frequent service is available for an extra fee.
Your cabin time at Black Bay Camp will be relaxing. Listen to the lapping of waves and the call of the loons. If you want to stretch your legs and get your heart pumping, explore the rustic walking trails throughout the 85 acre setting, plus a 2 mile long driveway for biking or jogging.
Take to the lake! Our cabins include the use of 1 fishing boat with oars, 2-person canoe, kayaks (3 available) and a peddle boat (all first come, first served). Nearby creeks are great for kayak exploring. Lake Vermilion is an absolute joy to boat and fish. Its bays and islands offers limitless fishing options even when the wind is blowing. Inquire about available rentals for fishing boat with motor and pontoon boat. Don't forget the net! There are reefs, sunken islands, drop-offs and plenty of shoreline for fishing: Walleye, Bass, Muskie, Northern, Perch, and Panfish all make for a great fish fry. Better yet, bring your own boat - the boat launch is to the west of the Main Lodge.
Explore Lake Vermilion and its 365 islands and 1200 miles of shoreline. The National Geographic Society declared Lake Vermilion one of the top ten most scenic lakes in the United States. Fish on! Walleye, Bass, Muskie, Northern, Perch, and Panfish – Lake Vermilion has them all! If you are interested in Lake Vermilion Muskie Fishing, ask us for some fishing tips.
Bringing your ATV’s or other off road vehicles? Use to the forest road (our driveway) until you have reached County No. 24 where there are all sorts of former logging roads and trails to ride. These are great hunting roads too: Pheasant, Deer and Bear.
