We hope you enjoy your stay at Idlewild Resort! Our expansive property features 13 beautiful rental cabins for you to choose from. Our luxurious vacation homes feature cozy sleeping arrangements, hot showers, and well-equipped kitchens. We even have two beautiful lakefront homes with cable TV and WiFi.
Of course, we have plenty of waterside activities at Idlewild. We offer boat and pontoon rentals and plenty of dock space. The fishing is great here! And if you'd like to swim, we offer a heated swimming pool and hot tub in addition to the lake.
If you've had your fill of fishing and boating, we have a playground for the kids and a game room. Gather with the family around a game of cards or foosball, or watch a movie on the large screen TV. There's even a fireplace to keep you warm. No matter how you spend your days at Idlewild, you're sure to have a blast!
If you're not an experienced fisherman, Idlewild guides are here to help. Our guides have more than 30 years of experience on lake Kabetogama and can help with gas, bait, and more. We also offer fish filleting services, so you can enjoy whatever you catch. We even offer full guide services for fishing and sightseeing! No matter your skill level, you're going to have a blast fishing at Idlewild.

If you would like to explore beyond Idlewild, make sure to check out Voyageurs National Park. Voyageurs is well known for its hiking trails and birdwatching opportunities. While you hike, keep an eye out for species of warblers, owls, swallows, and loons. Areas of the park that are particularly good for birdwatching include Anderson Bay, Kab-Ash trail, and Echo Bay. Make sure to pack binoculars!
Voyageurs National Park is also known for its clear skies. If you love gazing at the night sky, this is the place to do it! This park has plenty of places to see the stars unobstructed. On certain nights, you can even see the magnificent Northern Lights. This is one of the only places in the lower United States where you can see this stunning natural phenomenon, so be sure to keep your eyes peeled.
