Welcome to Mahaffey's Moosehorn Resort, where we have nine beautiful cabins waiting for you! All of our rentals have charming rustic decor and feature satellite TV. These lodges provide the perfect place to rest your head after a day of adventure on Lake Kabetogama. In addition to our cabins, we have six RV sites available. All resort amenities are available to those who book an RV site.
We want to make your stay as smooth as possible, which is why we offer boat rentals and dock service to all guests. Each cabin comes with one complimentary dock space, and more can be provided upon request. We have multiple types of boats to get you out on the water! Dock hands will assist you with boat hookup, bring you bait, and even clean your fish for you!
Even if you don't like to fish, a day on the water can be incredibly relaxing. Bring some sunscreen and shades, and get your vacation on! No matter how you choose to spend your time at Mahaffey's Moosehorn resort, you're sure to have a great vacation.
Mahaffey's Moosehorn Resort is one of only a few resorts that are open in the winter months. Experience the beautiful lake Kabetogama in a whole new light! In the winter, you can try your hand at skiing, snowmobiling, and ice fishing. Once you're done with your day full of adventure, our cozy cabins will be waiting to greet you, some of which even have fireplaces.
Dock and office hours are 7 AM until 8 PM daily.
Mahaffey's Moosehorn Resort has plenty of onsite recreation, such as:
Boat rentals
Dock service
Canoes, kayaks, and hydrobikes
Basketball court
Outdoor picnic areas and grills
If you're itching to explore the rest of the wilderness, make sure to check out Voyageurs National Park. It's a beautiful natural wonder known for hiking, birdwatching, and clear skies. Keep an eye out for birds at Echo Bay or Dryweed Island, where you might catch a glimpse of great blue herons, warblers, and thrushes. If you're planning to birdwatch, a pair of binoculars will be useful, as well as a field guide!
Of course, boating is a big attraction on Lake Kabetogama, and you can access certain trails only by water. Just a relaxing boat ride will grant you access to Mukooda Trail, Anderson Bay Loop, and Black Bay Beaver Pond Trail. The trails vary in difficulty, so come prepared! When you're all tuckered out, your luxurious cabin at Mahaffey's Moosehorn Resort will be waiting.

Check in after 3 p.m. and check out no later than 9 AM.
Pet fee $25 daily/$125 weekly per pet. Maximum 2 dogs per cabin. Extra guests are an extra $35/night.
Deposits are 50% of the weekly cabin and boat rental. Deposits are non-refundable if the vacancy cannot be refilled. If completely refilled, a refund minus a $100 processing fee will be given. 3% convenience fee for credit card payments.

I already booked again next Summer. Under new ownership which was definitely needed and we absolutely love it here. Highly recommended. Kayaking around islands, seeing Otters at play, and just sneaking up on nature is what I enjoyed. Rope swing at the island is something kids will never forget. lots of Walleye!!!
